3/31/11

Currently the temperature is at 46 degrees F with winds from the WSW at around 5-10 mph.  There is a mixture of scattered cirrus, cirrostratus, and cumulus clouds in the atmosphere which is making me think there could be some storms coming in, but they seem to be dissipating as the day progresses.  The temperatures are a bit high for slow melting, but with the winds out of the S partially, it is causing this warm up to be a bit drastic.  My prediction from yesterday was correct, temperatures did rise from the day prior, but as for tomorrow I predict a little more of a warm up with possible precipitation :( Have a good day!

3/30/11

At around 1 pm yesterday the temperatures were at 38 degrees F with winds from the ESE at around 10-15 mph.  There were only a few cirrus clouds in the atmosphere and mostly sunny skies.  My prediction from the day before were correct, the temperatures did rise a slight bit from some cloud coverage later in the day, but also the wind changed from the N to ESE which also accounted for the warm up.  There was no precipitation and I predict there may be some for tomorrow if more clouds move in, but probably not until the pm hours.  Also, I predict for tomorrow the temperatures to be about the same with a little warm up.  Luckily, the temperatures have allowed for the snow to melt in a slow fashion, and I predict tomorrow will continue that pattern with fairly near to freezing temperatures.  Have a good day!

3/29/11

Currently the temperature is at 30 degrees F with winds from the ENE at around 5-10 mph.  There are only a few cirrostratus clouds in the atmosphere as of right now, and I predict there will be more as the day increases following the trend that began this morning.  This cloud coverage will then rise our temperatures just a bit higher for this snow to keep melting slowly.  There has been no precipitation today, and I predict there will be none tomorrow either if the cloud coverage stays fairly light.  As for tomorrow, I predict temperatures to rise with the cloud coverage, but nothing too durastic with the winds still coming from the N.  Enjoy the sunshine outside today because tomorrow may be more cloudy!

3/28/11

Good Monday afternoon everyone! Currently the temperature is at 32 degrees F with winds from the NNE at around 5-10 mph.  There sky is clear with no clouds in sight and a lot of sunshine :)  Since the atmosphere currently has no cloud coverage is allowing for today to be a bit chilly, but there is more clouds on the way into the atmosphere that will help warm us up for tomorrow luckily!  Now, the temperatures are right on the edge for melting some of the recent snowfall we received last week, but tomorrow will be a much better indicator of melting snow and flooding in the area.  Rivers and streams around the area are already high from the past snow melting and after all of the snow has left us, we are in for a rude awakening! This past weekend in the Dells area in WI, I did see many houses in flood planes that were already surrounded by water, so I can not imagine the damage that will be done to buildings and roads once all of the snowfall melts.  I will keep you updated on flooding and temperatures in the weeks to come and I hope mother nature will give us some S winds to warm us up even a bit more in days to come :)

3/20/11

Currently the temperature is at  36.4 degrees F with winds from the S at around 25 mph.  There is complete overcast with less than an inch of rain falling.  This rain is melting a lot of the snow on the ground, which tells me some flooding in the area may in store.  My prediction from Friday was correct, temperatures did cool down a little from the day before.  My prediction for the rest of today is an increase in temperatures with the amount of cloud coverage and S winds.  There may also be some more precipitation, but nothing to be too worried about.  As for tomorrow, I predict about the same temperature as today if the clouds stick around thru the night.  If not, tomorrow may be a bit chillier!  Have a good Sunday everyone!

3/18/11

Currently the temperature is at 37.2 degrees F with winds from the WNW at around 15-20 mph.  We have scattered cumulostratus clouds today with some sun shining through.  Earlier this morning however, there was a mixture of cirrus, status and cumulus clouds throughout the atmosphere.  This made me think we may be having some crazy weather, but as the day progressed, just the cumulostratus clouds are left.  My prediction from Wednesday was correct, temps did increase and mimic the day prior, but my prediction for the rest of today and tomorrow is that temperatures will be cooling down.  Also, there has been no precipiation and I predict there will be none for the remainder of the day.  TGIF everyone, have a good weekend!

3/16/11

Currently the temperature is at 34.3 degrees F with winds from the WSW at 0-5 mph.  There was an enormous amount of evaporation fog present this morning until about 9 am.  The temperature and dew point at around 9 am finally allowed for the fog to erase and for more sun to shine through.  Currently, the sky is still hazy, but it is clearing as the day progresses! My prediction from yesterday was right about on, and I predict for the remainder of today, temperatures will increase and so will the amount of sun we see.  As for tomorrow, it is a little too early to tell, but I assume a little warm up in temperatures with the S wind and with some cloud coverage still available, tomorrow may mimc today's weather very closely.  I predict little precipitation if any, but as the day progresses I will be watching the clouds to see what forms! Have a great day everyone!

3/15/11

Currently, the temperature is at 44 degrees F with winds from the SSW at around 10 mph.  There are scattered cirrostratus clouds in the atmosphere with some sun shining through :) My prediction from yesterday is accurate, is it warming up especially with those South winds.  But, there has not been any precipiatation yet today as I expected.  I predict for tomorrow to be a little more cloudy with temperatures still on the rise with from the S wind direction and cloud coverage that is increasing today.  According to the clouds, I assume no precipitation as of now, but that may change as the dat progresses.

3/14/11

Currently the temperature is at 40 degrees F with winds from the SW at around 5-10 mph.  The sky is mainly clear with only a patch of cirrus clouds to the NW.  My prediction from this weekend was accurate, we did not have any precipitation the following day and boy was it a beautiful Sunday!  I predict tomorrow will be a bit cooler without the clouds coverage to keep us warm, but a lot can happen from now until a little later today with the clouds and wind direction to tell us if there will be precipitation or not. Lets hope mother nature will allow Spring to come and stay with this stable environment :)

3/11/11

Currently the temperature is at 40.7 degrees F with winds from the SSW at around 10-15 mph.  The sky is mainly cloudy with cirrus clouds covering a majority of the atmosphere.  There is some sun shining through, but with the decreasing of clouds, I expect temperatures to drop into tomorrow.  Also, because there are cirrus clouds and winds from the SSW, I expect no precipitation throughout the night and into tomorrow.  My prediction for today was accurate, but it warmed up a little more than I expected.  Also, I just want to touch on the fact that this morning there was some evaporation fog due to the cold temperatures overnight and warm temperature today.  This is very common in this area, and I expect to see more of it in the close future with the forecast I have seen with the warm up during the day.  Have a great weekend! :)

3/10/11

Currently the temperature  is at 29.7 degrees F with winds from the North at around 5 mph.  The sky is currently clear with the sun shining down brightly.  I do expect the temperatures to stay about the same or even decrease with the clear skies, along with the N winds.  My prediction from yesterday was correct, but for this evening I predict temperatures to stay fairly consistent with a bit of a warmup for tomorrow once the clouds move back in to keep us warm :)

2/9/11

Currently the temperature is at 33.3 degrees F with winds from the N at 7 mph.  There is complete overcast with light snow falling as the day progresses.  My prediction was correct, but I did underestimate the amount of snow we were going to recieve.  My prediction for tomorrow is that it will remain about the same temperature with some more snowfall.  Lets hope it warms up a little or the wind changes, because I would love Spring to make a small appearance any day!! :) Stay warm and keep those winter boots out.

2/8/11

Currently the temperature is at 37 degrees F with winds from the NE at around 10 mph.  The sun is shining now with only scattered cirrostratus clouds.  My prediction from yesterday was correct, it is warmer today than yesterday, but sadly I predict it is going to be cooler again tomorrow because of the winds from the North and less cloud coverage.  It is exciting to see the snow melting, but I am afraid since we are so close to freezing, we may see some light precipitation later tonight onto tomorrow.

Monday, March 7, 2011

3/7/11

Currently the temperature is at exactly 33 degrees F with light winds at around 5-10 mph from the SSW.  There is complete overcast with some light snowfall.  My prediction was correct for yesterday, but today is a little warmer than I expected.  But, because the winds are coming from the South,  I predict tomorrow will warm up even more melting some of that snow we just received.  I predict there could be some more snowfall throughout the day, but with the temperature on the rise right now, that won't allow for snowfall until this evening.

3/5/11

Currently the temperature is at 27 degrees F with winds from the  N at 5 mph.  There is bout 30% cloud coverage with cirrus clouds or maybe altocumulus.  My prediction was correct, that it would warm up a little, but because the winds are from the North again, I am afraid I have to predict a cool down again for tomorrow.  There has been no precipitation yet today, and the clouds have been clearing up nicely.  Lets hope for no more snow :)

3/3/11

Currently the temperature is at 15.1 degrees F with winds from the ESE at around 10 mph.  There is 100% overcast with barely any sunshine coming through.  My prediction that it would be warmer today is correct, but not until more of the mid-day.  There is some precipitation falling, but it is very light.  I predict the temperature will get a little warmer for tomorrow and that there will be more precipitation for the remainder of the day.  Stay warm out there :)

3/2/11

Currently that temperature is at 13.2 degrees F with winds from the N at around 5 mph.  I was correct with my prediction saying temperatures would drop compared to yesterday.  I predict, with the increasing cloud coverage, for it to be a bit warmer tomorrow.  Today was mainly sunny with little cloud coverage (cirrus clouds), which was the cause for such cold temps, but tomorrow will be warmer!

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

3/1/11

Currently the temperature is at 38 degrees F with winds at around 15 mph out of the WSW.  The sky is mainly covered (90%) with cirrus clouds at about a mid-level altitude.  The sun is shining thru though, so that means the clouds towards the North are thin, but the clouds to the SSW are thicker.  This then makes me predict that temperatures will be increasing with the abundance of cloud coverage today.  I predict also, that there may be a chance for precipitation on a small scale into tonight.
